The Chiemgau is a calm, peaceful landscape. The motto of the tolerant inhabitants is “live and let live”. When they are not donning traditional costumes, most of those that live here do the same as the hotel guests in their free time. And there is lots to do for visitors from near and far.
In the heart of the Chiemgau, not far from Munich and surrounded by stunning scenery. Chiemsee 11 km, Reit im Winkl 20 km, Salzburg 60 km, München 100 km.
Grassau is surrounded by rugged mountain chains. It is a small community in the heart of the region of Traunstein near the beautiful Lake Chiemsee. The Bavarians are famous for always enjoying life despite everyday stresses. Italy is not far away, and the lifestyle of the people of Grassau is almost Mediterranean in its relaxedness.
Sport & Leisure
As well as sport and leisure, we also offer some cultural options. Munich and Salzburg are near enough for a day trip. “Good skiing and sledging!” are the words on the lips of all winter sports fans when the colder months arrive. Skiers, mountain climbers and hikers can find wonderful places to enjoy their hobbies both in Grassau and in Ruhpolding, with great places for cross-country skiing in the nearby resorts of Inzell, Reit im Winkl and Schnaitsee.
